Messages and contact forms
If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We also receive any other details you include. We use this information to respond and handle the issue you raise. Our contact address is hosted by Gmail. Please do not send passwords, payment details or identity documents. Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
The moving-story form lets contributors save drafts and submit text and photos for review. Stories do not become public until an administrator approves them. Read the story guidelines before submitting.
Newsletter subscriptions
Newsletter signup is currently closed while we finish delivery testing. The Newsletter plugin stores existing subscriber records in our WordPress database. These may include an email address, subscription status and technical records. The current configuration requires email confirmation and disables newsletter open and click tracking. Contact us to request removal of an existing record.
Once the newsletter launches, you can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact us at the address above. We may retain a record of an unsubscribe request to avoid sending further marketing messages.
Hosting and technical information
The website is hosted with Namecheap. Website requests can create technical records for operation and security. These may include IP addresses, pages, browser details and timestamps. Hosting log retention and backup retention have not yet been confirmed. WordPress may use cookies for logged-in administrators and site functions.
Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics is enabled through Google Site Kit to help us understand visits and site use. Logged-in users are excluded by the current configuration. Analytics can receive page interactions and details about your device and browser. It can use cookies or similar identifiers. AdSense is not connected.
We have not yet verified the Analytics retention setting or implemented an on-site cookie consent control. You can manage cookies in your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Affiliate links and external websites
Other websites linked from our pages have their own privacy policies. We will identify advertising, sponsorships or affiliate relationships near the relevant content when used. Following an external link takes you to a service whose own data practices apply.
Calculators and saved checklist progress
The homepage calculators process your entries in your browser. Their current code does not send those amounts to our WordPress database. The moving checklist can save checked tasks in this browser’s local storage when you choose to save progress. Saved progress stays on that device until you use the checklist’s clear control or delete this site’s browser data. It does not sync between devices. Google Analytics can still collect general site-use information as described above.
Service providers and retention
Hosting, email handling and subscription administration involve the providers described above. We have not yet checked how long hosting, backups and Analytics keep data. As a result, we cannot give a specific deletion timetable for those systems. Contact us with a request about information you have provided, and we will review the relevant records and available deletion options.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or stop newsletter messages. We may need to verify a request and retain records where required. Browser cookie controls and future on-site consent controls provide additional choices. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.
Changes
We will revise this notice as the website’s services and data practices change.
