Accurate information matters when you’re planning a move. If you find an error or outdated information on Out of State Guide, please tell us so we can review it.
How to report an issue
Email outofstateguide@gmail.com with the subject line “Correction: [page title]”.
Please include:
- The page URL.
- The statement, figure, or calculator result you believe is incorrect.
- An explanation of the issue.
- A reliable supporting source, if available.
For calculator issues, include the inputs you used, the result you received, and why it appears incorrect. Please leave out sensitive personal information.
How we handle reports
We review the reported issue and check the relevant sources using the standards in our Editorial Policy. If we confirm an error, we correct the affected content.
If we cannot verify a proposed correction, we may retain the existing wording, add context, or investigate further. Reporting an issue does not automatically result in a change.
How changes are recorded
Minor spelling, formatting, and broken-link fixes may be made without a correction note.
For material factual errors that affect a reader’s understanding, we add a dated correction note explaining what changed. Updates reflecting new information or changed circumstances may be identified as updates.
Response times
We aim to address meaningful errors promptly, but review times depend on the issue and the availability of reliable information. We cannot guarantee a response or resolution within a specific period.
